Origin: China

Flavor/Aroma: Fresh and licorice like, similar aroma than the anise

Use: Star Anise may be used in sausages, lamb, beef, pork, chicken, fish, tomato dishes, and pastries. Star anise has carminative, stomachic, stimulant and diuretic properties. In the East it is used to combat colic and rheumatism. It is a common
flavoring for medicinal teas, cough mixtures and pastilles
